CLEMATIS IN THE VEGE GARDEN – WITH THE NETTLES !!!
Clematis growing in my vege garden – a lovely colourful addition – and yes those nettles are meant to be there !!! I am growing a small Nettle patch to make Nettle Soup and Nettle Tea. They are thought of as an annoying prickly weed, but they are packed with nutrients. They are a great source of Vitamin C, B Vitamins, Vitamin K, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Iron and Phytonutrients. They have a diuretic action, and this helps to flush toxins from the body. Nettles are also believed to be anti inflammatory, specifically beneficial for osteoarthritis, urinary tract symptoms, eczema, hayfever and other allergic conditions. This is due to their anti histamine properties, as they have a great mix of Vitamin C and Quercetin.
